The 142nd Assault Helicopter Company is Joint Task Force Heavy's rotary-wing unit. It handles air assault, troop movement, and armed escort for the MAGTF.
Role in the fight
The 142nd moves people and provides lift. We insert and pull out troops, fly escort for other helicopters, and support the ground fight from low altitude.
Flying rotary wing in DCS
Helicopters are a separate skill set from jets. There is hover work, landing in tight spaces, using terrain for cover, and staying in close contact with the ground element.
What you'll fly
Air assault missions, casualty evacuation, and escort. New rotary pilots get brought up to speed, and experienced ones have plenty to work with.
